Sustainability 2.0: Envisioning Business and the Urban Environment
Businesses and governments are struggling with a tough economy and the increasingly urgent challenge of using energy, water, and other resources sustainably. More people now live in urban areas than rural areas, and the world population is projected to exceed 9 billion by mid-century, with vast, sprawling, swollen megacities absorbing much growth and increasingly burdened by it.
How will future cities function? How will future businesses function? How might they flourish, sustainably? Partnerships and collaborations among many stakeholders will significantly shape the answers to these questions. On Nov. 6, expert panels on water, energy, and real estate will convene to discuss how 21st century challenges can be met and to envision the kind of environment that business may be operating in by mid-century.
Case studies from Bank of America, Consolidated Edison, IBM, CISCO Systems, Pepsi Cola, and United Technologies will be featured.
