"Drones, UAV, UAS, Unmanned Aircraft - Their Role in Public Safety" Lecture

Studies presents "Drones, UAV, UAS, Unmanned Aircraft - Their
Role in Public Safety," with guest speaker, lt.Chad Gann,
Arlington, Texas Police Department.
Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) have become an integral part of
our military’s arsenal for missions ranging from surveillance to
offensive purposes. UAS are rapidly transitioning into the civil
sector, and their potential can improve safety and effectiveness
of civil first responders. Lt. Gann of the Arlington, Texas Police,
has led one of the nation’s most rigorous testing programs for
experimenting with the application of UAS to public safety. Lt.
Gann will discuss the Arlington Texas experience, as well as
review changes in federal regulations governing the use of UAS,
and discuss challenges to UAS in dense urban areas.
