Celebrate Italian Heritage Month at the College of Staten Island/CUNY

This celebratory event will feature the screening of the documentary film by Gianfranco Giagni, "Dante Ferretti: Scenografo Italiano" (English translation: Dante Ferretti: Italian Production Designer), a loving, insightful tribute to one of the greatest artists working in Italian cinema today. Dante Ferretti, winner of three Oscars and a key, longtime collaborator with directors ranging from Fellini and Pasolini to Terry Gilliam, Tim Burton, and Martin Scorsese, discusses his art, taking us to those places that have inspired his designs as well as sharing and explaining his sketches and models. After the screening, there will be a Q&A session and discussion. The Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere seeks to preserve, promote, and celebrate the rich heritage of Italy by encouraging an appreciation of the Italian language, arts, literature, history, fashion, cuisine, and commerce through educational programs, exhibits, and events. Following the event, there will be a small reception of Italian desserts funded by the Campus Activities Board, using Student Activity Fees. This event is sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of New Student Orientation/CLUE/Pluralism and Diversity. This is a CC CLUE-certified event.
