CUNY Citizenship Now! assists permanent residents with their citizenship applications. Events are open to anyone, not only CUNY students. This event is sponsored by Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York City Council Member Margaret Chin and NALEO.
Languages spoken: English and Spanish. Experienced lawyers and other immigration professionals will assist you in filling out forms if you meet the following naturalization requirements: You have resided in the United States as a permanent resident for five years (or for three years if you are married to and living with a U.S. citizen). You have been physically present in the United States for half of the five- or three-year period. You are at least 18 years old. A $680 filing fee (check or money order) is required by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. It is not necessary to bring the fee to this event. We will provide assistance in filling out the fee waiver form for those who qualify. Please bring the necessary documents for your naturalization and fee waiver applications.
