Accounting Workshop


Students enrolled in Accounting Principles I (ACC 122) are invited to a workshop designed to help students in accounting. Mastery of the first two chapters of ACC 122 is an essential for success in the course. Accounting, like mathematics, is difficult to grasp without solid foundation of the basic principles. The workshop will give students a chance to get a head start and to develop a solid foundation for success. The topics covered in the workshop, include: The Accounting Equation The Double-Entry System Accrual Accounting Preparation of Financial Statements The workshop will be taught by Prof. Joel Barker and experienced accounting tutors will be on hand at the end of each lecture to guide students through additional accounting exercises. Students who have taken this class before and want or need a "refresher" are also invited. The workshop consists of three consecutive sessions. Students are encouraged to attend all three sessions. Attending only one session is of minimal value. You will have an opportunity to ask additional questions after the lecture.
