Immigrant Heritage Week Event: Children of Katrina
For a second consecutive year, Queens College will observe Immigrant Heritage Week with a compelling array of academic and artistic events presented from April 17 24. The lineup includes performances, a panel discussion on the migratory trajectory of Argentine tango, and a public debate about deferred action for immigrants who entered the United States as children. Andy Beveridge, chairman of the Queens College Sociology Department, will deliver the keynote address by tracking changes in the borough's immigrant map through the decades.
