Higher Education Action Day!
WHAT: An all-day event that gives students a chance to lobby state legislators on Higher Education issues, in relation to the New York State Budget.
We're pushing for a free and quality CUNY and SUNY. This means more funding from the state of NY into its public university systems, expansion of successful programs like ASAP, and much more.
WHEN: Tuesday, February 12th (There are no CUNY Classes scheduled for this day). Buses will be departing from the city around 7 a.m. — to be finalized. Students are typically back in the Bronx around 7 p.m., depending on traffic.
WHERE: New York State Capitol in Albany, NY
Transportation and food: Free buses will provide travel from locations in NYC, courtesy of USS (University Student Senate, the CUNY-wide Student Government body).
There will be a bus that stops at both CCNY (Around W. 138th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, Manhattan) and in front of BCC (University Avenue/Hall of Fame Terrace).
Food will be provided as well! Halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options are available.
