Melvin Edwards: Passages
Opening Reception: April 18, 2018, 3pm-5pm
One of the nation’s most renowned sculptors, Melvin Edwards returns to Kingsborough nearly thirty years after creating his monumental work Passage for the Marine Academic Center in 1989. Best known as his groundbreaking steel sculpture series Lynch Fragments, Edwards has also been a prolific printmaker. This exhibition, curated in partnership by the Alexander Gray Gallery and Dieu Donné print studio, celebrates the profound and innovative work of this pivotal American artist.
Since 1976, the Kingsborough Art Museum has been dedicated to providing students, faculty and staff at Kingsborough, along with the many communities that make up the borough of Brooklyn, art exhibitions of historical, regional, national or international importance that reflect the values and standards inherent to the Art Department curriculum.
