CUNY MONTH - LPAC Presents: "Dina Denis Dance"
The program will feature three premieres and repertory works; Please Stand Clear of the Closing Doors and Trickle Down, Up, and Through My Spine. As part of the Company's artist-to-youth mentor program, Ms. Denis will premiere Lonely Crowds, a new work set on the young dancers from the Nadia's Performing Arts Center. Love, to The Same Old Tune (Premiere) is a jazzy quartet consisting of solos that weave stories of romance, despair, and renewed life set to recorded classical blues music. Elementary Balance (Premiere) uses dance, music, and film to explore the influences of the human ceremony and spirit over the natural elements as well as their processes as a collaborative and oppositional force throughout the world. Through this piece, we hope to inspire the audience to reflect on nature as a powerful force that can at times be influenced by human intention (spirit).
