Bernard Madoff: "The Wizard of Lies"
Bernie Madoff's massive fraud -- the largest Ponzi scheme in history -- raises many questions: how it came to be, why the S.E.C. was asleep at the switch and whether it will force the sale of the New York Mets, among them. Diana Henriques of The New York Times, who has covered the Madoff scandal from the beginning, will discuss her new book, "The Wizard of Lies," and take questions from the audience.
Diana B. Henriques is a senior financial writer at The NY Times, which she joined in October 1989. She was a member of a reporting team that was named a Pulitzer finalist in 2003 for its coverage of the aftermath of the Enron scandals. Ms. Henriques is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of what is now the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
