The Economic Effects of Piracy on the Maritime Industry
Join us for the live video stream of a presentation given by Stephanos Ugbit, a BCC student, at the annual Global Business and Transportation (GBAT) Cutting Edge Issues in Shipping Conference at SUNY Maritime College. His presentation will explore the underlying issues of piracy in the Gulf of Aden and its detrimental effect on the maritime industry. This informative session will discusses the ineffectiveness of international strategy to diminish piracy and the misconceptions of piracy, present viable and effective solutions to combat piracy, and alleviate the economic strains on the maritime industry.
