Sing with the Queens College Choral Society
The Society welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds to share the joys of choral singing in a friendly atmosphere. Through its affiliation with the Aaron Copland School of Music, the Society offers students, faculty, and staff of Queens College, as well as members of the surrounding community, the opportunity to learn and perform choral masterpieces from all musical eras. Faculty, staff and students from any CUNY college are invited to audition!
The 2013-2014 concert season will feature Duke Ellingtonís Sacred Concerts and Mendelssohnís Elijah, two magnificent works. The Sacred Concerts are among the major achievements of the last decade of Ellingtonís life, and Elijah is one of the most beloved oratorios ever written.
Auditions consist of basic singing skills (no preparation necessary) and will take place on the following Wednesdays in Room 246 of the Music Building: August 21st, and September 4th, 6Ė8:30 pm; August 28th, and September 11th, 6Ė7:15 pm.
