Citizenship Now! Application Assistance Event with NYC Council Members Crystal Hudson, Darlene Mealy, Sandy Nurse and Chi Ossé

U.S. citizenship offers many benefits, from being able to vote, ease of travel, new job opportunities with the potential of a better income, and other financial advantages. Applying for citizenship can significantly impact people’s lives and the lives of their loved ones. CUNY Citizenship Now!, in partnership with the New York City Council, will hold monthly events aimed at assisting 100 green card holders. Eligible participants leave our events with an application package ready to be mailed to USCIS. All our services are free.

Our next event is on January 10 in Brooklyn

At the event, you will receive the following services:

✅ Evaluation of your eligibility for citizenship
✅ Assistance completing the new N-400 application form, if eligible
✅ Help requesting a fee waiver or reduced fee, if eligible
✅ Photocopies of supporting documents to be included in the application packet

You must meet the following requirements:

- You have resided in the United States as a permanent resident for five years (or for three years if you are married to and living with a U.S. citizen).

- You have been physically present in the United States for half of the five (or three) year period.

- You are at least 18 years old.

Our citizenship events are sponsored by the New Americans Campaign, the NALEO Educational Fund, and Dominicanos USA.

We strongly recommend that you bring the necessary documents for your naturalization and fee waiver applications. If you wish, you may complete and print this document with information needed to fill your citizenship application, and bring it with you. This will help you save time at the event.
